Dr. and Mrs. Edwin Jeff Gilmer Kennedy of Madison announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Lee Kennedy, to John David Lewis, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Richard Lewis of Jackson.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Leland Byler of Jackson, and Mrs. JoAnn Kennedy, Mrs. James Huggins Kennedy and the late Mr. James Kennedy, all of Gulfport. She is a 2009 graduate of Madison-Ridgeland Academy. She was graduated from Mississippi State University in 2013 with a degree in Elementary Education. At Mississippi State University, she was a member of Chi Omega fraternity. In 2015, Mary Lee was graduated from the University of Mississippi with a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She received a master’s of Speech-Language Pathology from the University of South Carolina in 2017. She is currently a Speech-Language Pathologist with Mikel Therapy Group.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jack Hurst of Jackson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Alvah Lewis of Starkville. He is a 2010 graduate of Jackson Academy. He was graduated from Mississippi State University in 2015 with a degree in Architecture. He is pursuing a master’s in Urban and Regional Planning at Jackson State University. David is currently a project specialist at the Greater Jackson Arts Council and vice chair of Team JXN.
The couple will exchange vows November 18 at Galloway Memorial United Methodist Church in Jackson
